An Alabama based, bass fishing tournament series developed for Collegiate Anglers

The Fishlife Collegiate Tour has been established to give all collegiate anglers a chance to compete against one another and other university teams in a series that spans the entire year. Not just two or three qualifying events. This is an eight event, two day championship tour, fishing the beautiful lakes of Alabama.

Fishlife Collegiate Tour Utilizes Healthy Water Weigh-In System 

The latest successful venture for Sportsman’s Media Group is the Fishlife Bass Tour (fishlifebasstour.com) a series of fishing tournaments across Alabama for weekend anglers with competitive payouts and an unrelenting focus on conservation practices.

“Our Fishlife Bass Tour has raised the bar on conservation by utilizing the guidelines set by Shimano in the development of water weigh-in systems to drastically reduce fish mortality rates at our tournaments. It’s certainly more costly to use this system, and we are only one of a few groups in the nation doing it this way, but we’ll never compromise on our conservation standards. Media Tip: Organize your photos by Rights

Alright Collegiate anglers, I am going to start chiming in here with tips on how to handle a bunch of different things that are never taught to most professional anglers.

In this first tip, I want to discuss photos.  Photos are important to creating an image for yourself both on your personal sites and in the media.  There are many great writers out there that would be willing to do articles with you now or in the future, which they can do over the phone for the most part.  What they can’t do over the phone is take pictures of you. In addition, you generally can’t take photos of yourself.  So here is a little tip that will help you have photos available when you need them.

Stephen F. Austin Repeats, Winning the 2012 FLW Southern Conference Championship

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Cold weather, wind, rain and clouds greeted the top five teams on the final day for the National Guard FLW College Fishing Southern Conference Championship on Lake Dardanelle. With tough conditions and only 1 pound, 11 ounces separating fifth from first, it was left the possibility for anyone to take the title.With only two of the teams on the final day bringing five-bass limits to the stage, it was Stephen F. Austin who captured the title after starting the day only 3-ounces behind the leader. On day one Robert ‘Blaze’ Platt and Kyle Turner brought 11 pounds, 3 ounces to the scales. They backed that up with the largest bag of the tournament on day two – 17-2. Today they hauled in 16-3, giving them a three-day total of 44-8 and a new Ranger Z117 and motor for their club.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – While the weather changed from bright sunshine to thick clouds on day three of the National Guard FLW College Fishing Southeast Conference Championship, it wasn’t nearly enough to derail the powerhouse Auburn University fishing team. With several deep schools of bass located, the Tigers put on an offshore clinic and dominated the three-day tournament wire-to-wire.

San Antonio, Texas (Sept. 18, 2012) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers announced today that it has partnered with BassGold to bring BassGold’s revolutionary new bass patterning tool free to collegiate anglers.

Fairmont State Wins Northern Conference Championship

 

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (Sept. 15, 2012) – The Fairmont State University team of Wil Dieffenbauch of Hundred, W. Va., and Ryan Radcliff of Parkersburg, W.Va., won the National Guard FLW College Fishing Northern Conference Championship presented by Mercury on Philpott Lake Saturday with a five-bass limit weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Their three day total weight of 24 pounds, 12 ounces beat State University of New York – Plattsburgh by 1 pound, 12 ounces. The team from Fairmont State won a Ranger Z117 bass boat with a 90-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a berth in the National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship.
